let's start with the product
Linus is made of one single material: micro-expanded PVC. This is a 100% recyclable material, with 70% of renewable sources in its composition. One of the compounds in our sandals is salt (derived from salterns rather than rock salt), a resource considered inexhaustible.
Produced in Brazil, we managed to overcome one of PVC's major issues, which is its high energy consumption during production. Our country is a global reference and has a privileged position in terms of clean and renewable energies, so we have more sustainable production options within our partner factories, such as solar energy.
Linus is also vegan, as nothing in its composition has been tested on animals - we have replaced all plasticiser oils and lubricants of animal origin with vegetable oils.
Just like our sandals don't have any parts made of disposable plastic, our packaging doesn't either: we've swapped regular adhesive tapes for paper tapes and don't include any unnecessary pamphlets - all the information you need is printed on the box and label :)
then, the company
We believe that the good path is collective, which is why we rely on partners who help us find increasingly sustainable solutions at every stage of our journey.
In partnership with FutureCarbon, we offset double the amount of carbon we emit in our daily routine, from sandal production to everyday office operations.
With Grupo Muda, responsible for the Muda Recicla seal, we offset 100% of the plastic we produce and the paper we use. The offset is achieved through the proper disposal of materials equivalent to our partner sorting centers. With them, we also carry out the "Adote um Condomínio" program, in which we sponsor the installation of selective waste bins in condominiums throughout the city of São Paulo, further directing waste to proper disposal, promoting environmental education among residents, and contributing to increasing the income of recycling workers.
OPAN
The Operação Amazônia Nativa is a non-governmental organisation that works to strengthen indigenous leadership in the regional scenario in Amazonas and Mato Grosso and nationally. OPAN's work is based on valuing indigenous culture and modes of social organization, through the qualification of management practices for their territories and natural resources, autonomously and sustainably.
We understand that life and biodiversity can only be preserved where the forest stands - and this can only happen when the rights of its peoples are guaranteed. Therefore, we donate 100% of the profits from Linus Amazônia sales to this cause.
AFESU
Since 2020, we have been walking alongside Afesu, a pioneering social organization that promotes women's education and has, for 60 years, offered free projects for school support, professional initiation, and technical courses for young people in situations of social vulnerability. Here at Casa Linus, all São Paulo fiscal receipts donated by you are directed to the organisation.
